cant get into my hotmail account or get it recovered

Hi

I cannot get into my hotmail account on my new phone as I cant remember the password. I can still get into my emails on my old iphone.

When I ask for a verification code the system is not sending one to my mobile which is registered onto the account. It asks me for the last 4 digits and I provide them and no text message with a code. I have tried this a number of times and now being told I cannot try again until tomorrow and not a single code.

It says I can also get a code from another email account, which I have done through my work email, this then lets me fill out a form. On the form it asks me where I was when I created the account and my postcode. I created this hotmail account 20 years ago how I am supposed to remember that. It also asks me to write down 4 address that I have sent emais to and 4 of the subject lines. Which I have done letter for letter and the are exact, as I say I can still get into my emails on my old account. then I get an email saying I haven't passed the check and to try again tomorrow.

whats the point int trying tomorrow, I have given you all the information I have including the exact information for all my sent emails because I can see them.

There is no where I can go to to speak to a human, where are the helplines. It just says our advisers cant help you as the account details are private. Well if you actually sent a code to my mobile phone maybe that would work but I cant even get through for someone to actually do this.

Is there anybody that can help or shall I just give up and start a new account with a provider who will actually help or at least have someone I can talk to.

    I raised a ticket with one of the online agents with another hotmail email address. You have to be logged in to chat online with them. they said they checked their end and everything was working okay and to try again. when I did it finally worked, 5 weeks later. They didnt own up to their being a problem but there obviously was as I tried for weeks at least 50 times with different computers phones etc I was desperate to get it to work. Now I am back in.

    Please note that this is a user-to-user forum which means a user is helping another user. In you case, We are not working for Microsoft.

    By private mode of browser, I meant each browser has a private/incognito mode. You could try to use that feature of that to request for a password.

    Please keep me posted and I will gladly try to assist you.

    also it was not a private browser it was bog standard safari from the old iphone (iphone x) so no reason why it should not work

    okay will try tomorrow. This just inst the answer or good customer service at all though is it. this problem could be solved by an adviser in probably less than a few minutes.

May I confirm if you have tried requesting for the code using private mode of the browser?
