Managing personal Outlook.com account settings, security, and privacy
I just tried opening John's mailbox. I can open it just fine now. I can open the mailbox by "Add shared folder or mailbox" or by "Open another mailbox". Both work fine.

That should work fine too.
How did you grant yourself permission to access the shared mailbox?
I have Exchange plan 1 subscription and here's how I do it. I go to Exchange admin center at https://admin.exchange.microsoft.com/#/mailboxes
Open the (shared) mailbox, click Delegation:
Click Edit and add my name to grant myself full access to the mailbox.
Try removing full access permission. Wait for a few minutes. Grant the permission back on after waiting x minutes. Wait a bit longer before attempting to open the shared mailbox.
For your info, I granted myself permission to one of my users mailbox earlier today (let's call it John Doe's mailbox). I was able to open John's mailbox. I then remove the full permission when I'm done testing.
A few minutes ago, I granted myself full access permission to that same John Doe's mailbox. Now I can't open John's mailbox. I got an error just like they one Yvette posted. Perhaps I should wait a little longer. I'll try again in a few minutes.
Using Outlook web access. I'm an IT admin and have checked that I have all permissions (mailbox and calendar) and still get this message when attempting to access one of my members Outlooks.
Thanks for responding, usually how long does it take to be fixed? Just wondering that way I can report it to the account manager as well.
