Outlook.com contacts not syncing with Outlook mobile on Android

I have a recurring issue where my outlook.com contacts stop syncing with Outlook mobile on Android.

In Outlook mobile, mail and calendar are syncing perfectly, but every now and again contacts stop syncing. This isn't an issue of Outlook contacts syncing with the Android contacts on the phone, but an issue with Outlook mobile. When the issue occurs, when I go and look at Contacts within Outlook Mobile, my live.com account is empty, despite my two M365 accounts syncing just fine.

I am finding this is happening every day over the last few days. Mostly it fixes itself. I tried resetting the account in Outlook mobile, which did appear to work, but the issue has continued to happen despite that.

This is pretty frustrating - my contacts are stored in Outlook and so whenever they stop syncing, I can't find numbers to call!

Any ideas on what to do to resolve?

    Thank you for sharing, identical scenario, paid M365 personal account & a work account (which I removed as I am in process of retiring) & did an account reset (on personal account) which worked for a couple days then it lobotomized itself again today & another reset ensued. Annoying in that Favorites & Ringtones are lost & also have to be re-done. Stable for years, it would seem to be a pretty basic & important service app that would dictate more care be given when pushing out updates. I had Outlook & Android Contacts app both be updated within a couple days. This is the downside of the "constant" pushing out of updates (that have new features no one asked for or wants), very little testing & no consequences when an app does break from an update.

    I have the same issue. Since about a two weeks ago my contacts don't sync in Android.

    Same issue here. It's happening since roughly 2 weeks. My mom has the same issue. Please fix this ASAP. It's annoying as hell and while I can work around the issue, it's creating big issues for my not so technically skilled mom.

    I have the same issue which started on 5/1/23. It only happens with my personal Outlook account (M365 paid subscriber) and not my work M365 account. I reset contacts linking in the app and it solved it for a day or two before breaking again. Never had issues the preceding four plus years.

    I'm using version 4.2312.11 - I assume it's up to date as there are no updates pending.

    I have removed the account and re-added it to see if that fixes it. I'll come back if I continue to have issues.
