Seems like ransom ware. Its your information on your computer and no one asked Hotmail or Outlook to take and hold our information without our permission. We can put that information on our hard drives and store it and delete it as we need or increase or decrease as we like, and I personally do not like that someone has all my information on their files without us allowing them to do so, Then come back and say " Oh by the way, we have collected all your information and now we have to much of it and you can use your own computer if you pay to get us to give you more space to hold information that we TOOK and you never wanted us to do. So Bam !! pay us. Like stealing all your house contents and then saying " Oh want it back for a fee you can use your house now and we will give you stuff that you need" Or buy a larger home, of which we will take it also and eventually you will have to do it again. Or we will SPAM you on a FREE PLAN to death until you PAY US... I'm over Outlook.. Moving on.
Cannot Send emails - Space too full
As of today (regardless of the thousands of old emails I have deleted), I no longer can send any emails from my Outlook (old Hotmail) account.
If I try to reply to or create a new email, I get a message that stops me, saying that "Your storage is full" and I need to free up some space or get more storage.
Has something changed today, usually I can delete a few emails and continue.
This is SO PAINFUL and I rather urgently need to get some emails out.
I cannot blanket delete all emails and do keep many emails as I often refer back to them for details.
I would so appreciate any help. Thank you

2023-04-05T01:29:57+00:00 Thank You Raech : )
I have just logged on, through my computer, as it was easier to view the details than on my phone.
Thank you so much for your help! It is exactly as you explained.
I might need to open a brand new email, I am never going to get down to the 5G, and be able to keep the emails that I need to hold onto.
With the current financial pressure most people are facing, it is unfair to ask for people to now pay to use their email at the same capacity that we have been by upgrading storage with a fee attached. I imagine that one day soon, having an email account will become a regular bill as with most software, unfortunately.

2023-04-04T04:47:02+00:00 Hi Amanda! This is Raech. I'm a fellow Outlook.com user and I'm here to help.
Due to a change that was made on February 1 regarding storage, if you reach your cloud storage quota, your ability to send and receive emails in Outlook.com will be disrupted. For reference, you may visit the link below.

Since you posted this in the Outlook mobile forum, I would assume you are using the Outlook mobile app to access your emails. To quickly check your Storage, first please open your Outlook mobile and go to the Settings area. Select your email account under 'Mail accounts' and tap the 'Free plan' option under Storage. Next, select the 'Free up' space option, which will redirect you to the OneDrive web page. Again, tap the 'OneDrive' link next to the 'Empty recycle bin' option and from there, please delete files or photos/videos as needed.
Once you have cleared adequate space on your account, it may take a few hours or up to 24 hours to completely unblock your account.
Sincerely,
Raech C.

2023-04-05T01:35:14+00:00 Hi Amanda. Thank you so much for your reply. You don't actually necessarily need to delete tons of emails. Just the ones with large attachments. Also, if you have files saved on your OneDrive, this will clear up your storage space much faster.
