Why is Outlook a Web Based Only Application? Under Windows 10 this was NOT the case. My email and my other data files is my personal information and does NOT belong in any cloud!

    Hello Gdavis2388

There is still an Outlook mail app that is installed with Office software. If you are clicking a button in the new Office dashboard app and it is bringing up webmail, try typing Outlook on the start menu to open it.

The image on the left is the office dashboard app. The correct Outlook will have the Outlook item types listed. After you open it, pin it to the task bar.

    Hi Diane,

I find this to not be the case. On a new commuter with Windows 11, and a Microsoft365 account, the only installation option I’ve found after spending a couple hours searching is the Microsoft365 installer and they only puts the launcher in place that points to the web app.

I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled several times and at no time does Outlook.exe appear on the computer.

    Diane,

Thank you for sending me in the right direction! The Outlook is recovering as I'm drafting this! Thanks again!
