Outlook for Mac doesn't open when launched - Problem Report 'Microsoft Outlook quit unexpectedly'

Don't know if anyone can help. So frustrated.

Yesterday morning I launched Outlook for Mac from my laptop as I have done every day this week, and I get a problem report.

I tried to get help from Microsoft via Office 365 but this is for Exchange only, apparently, and the only way to request support for Outlook is via the help button in the app. Pretty useless when you can't access the app!

The following report is displayed when I launch the app. I've rebooted and have closed all apps when launching, to no avail. There was a microsoft autoupdate done on the Thursday but not sure if this is a coincidence.

I wonder if I can uninstall and then reinstall the app...but I don't know the best way to do this given Office 365 etc. I tried to find a way to install app on the Office 365 panel but there was no option to install Outlook. I've got several other email accounts that I use in Outlook for Mac, so I'd like to keep these, principally for the diaries, but the most important thing is to continue to be able to access Outlook.

Can anyone help?

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community.

I'm sorry to hear that you are having issues launching your outlook app. Can you please let me know if the other office 365 apps like Excel/Word can launch just fine without any issues?

If that is the case, please try steps below.

In Finder >go to the Applications folder
Drag/Move the Microsoft Outlook app to the trash.
Restart your Mac.
Run this installer to reinstall Microsoft Outlook Install package.

If the issue persists, you may have to uninstall and install your office for Mac. Please refer to the following docs on the steps.

Uninstall Office for Mac - Microsoft Support

Download and install or reinstall Microsoft 365 or Office 2021 on a PC or Mac - Microsoft Support

It was only Outlook that wasn't opening - the other apps were fine.

I've since uninstalled and reinstalled the app as per your suggestion, and it seems to be working - thanks very much for your help.
