Why is Outlook calendar not automatically syncing between my Surface Pro 9 (windows 11) and iPhone 13/iPad Pro?

Cannot understand why my Outlook calendar doesn't sync through to my iPhone/iPad when appts made on my Surface Pro 9. Emails are fine but Calendar isn't.

I'm a 365 Premium (home) subscriber on all devices.

Is it a setting I've not checked?

    Hello all.

I’ve not made an iota of progress on this issue. Perhaps I haven’t stated it properly.

See below (CAPITALISED for effect only). Thanks in advance:

I AM TRADITIONALLY AN APPLE USER. I’VE RECENTLY STARTED USING SURFACE PRO 9s INSTEAD OF MACBOOKS, WHILST STILL USING IPADS & IPHONES.

I AM A MICROSOFT 365 PREMIUM [HOME] SUBSCRIBER, SHARING BETWEEN IOS & WINDOWS DEVICES, AND WITH 2 OTHER MEMBERS OF MY FAMILY.

I USE OUTLOOK EXCLUSIVELY ACROSS ALL DEVICES. I USE MY ICLOUD EMAIL AS DEFAULT.

MEETINGS/APPTS CREATED ON IOS DEVICES SYNC TO ALL DEVICES. MEETINGS/APPTS CREATED ON SURFACE PRO 9 DO NOT SYNC TO IOS DEVICES.

THERE SHOULD BE NO CREDIBLE REASON FOR THIS TO HAPPEN. THE APP IS SOLD IN BOTH APP STORES AND THERE IS NO WARNING TO ADVISE ANY ISSUE.

I hope this clarifies more and appreciate any insights here. Microsoft certainly won’t be providing nay.

    Thanks.

    Thank you John.

This does not fix my issue. I have subscribed to MS 365 Premium for home/personal use. I use Outlook as my default mail & calendar app on a Surface Pro 9, an iPad Pro 7 an iPhone 13 mini.

Any meetings/appts in Outlook Calendar that were entered on the Surface Pro do not sync to my iPad or iPhone.

Any I add on iPhone/iPad do sync to Surface Pro.

I cannot be the first person this has happened to and it is mighty annoying that Microsoft hasn’t clearly addressed the issue anywhere.

This issue has plagued me for months.

    Thanks again.

I've also dealt with something I think similar for actually over a year or 2 now. Lets say a reminder pops up on computer A and I dismiss it or open it because it's time, then later go to computer B that same reminder is up saying it's passed time even though I dismissed/opened it on the ohter PC. Also same thing goes for if I move an item on my calendar to say the next day on computer B, then on computer A I still get the reminder pop up from the original time, even thgouh if I look at the calendar on that computer I see that the meeting was moved on it so why is it saying that? I even just this passed weekend got a new laptop and set it up and it still is a problem, so it's not computer specific obviously. And this is using Office 365 with my work account so it's not like we aren't using an Outlook/Exchange solution. I really feel this is likely a problem for everybody for a long time now, some people just don't notice/care/complain about it but it needs to be fixed!

Hello! My name is Mostafa, and I’m an independent advisor and a long-time Microsoft user.

I’m sorry that you are experiencing this issue, and I will try my best to assist you with this so that you find a satisfactory solution.

Here are some things you can try:

    1. Check if your account is syncing by going to Settings > Tap the account that is not syncing > Tap Reset Account.
    2. Delete and re-add your email account by going to Settings > Tap the account that is not syncing > Tap Delete Account > Delete From This Device.
    3. Make sure you add your Outlook account to your device by going to Settings > Passwords and Accounts.
    4. Check if the Calendars toggle switch is turned on by going to Settings > Passwords and Accounts > Outlook.
    5. Set the Outlook calendar as the default calendar by going to Settings > Calendar > Default Calendar.

Check the below link to try some solutions.

Thank you for taking the time to reply to me Mostafa.

Unfortunately, none of your suggestions work. I re-tried some and re-checked others.

Also, your suggestions referring to Settings > Passwords and Accounts are confusing. I’m using iOS 16.3.1 and in ‘Settings’, I have a ‘Passwords’ tab, but not a ‘Passwords and Accounts’ tab. Do you mean Settings > Calendar?

For instance, you say the following: -

    3. Make sure you add your Outlook account to your device by going to Settings > Passwords and Accounts. If I go Settings > Calendar I can execute. Same with point 4.

    Regardless, nothing changed.

One interesting point. I have an odd calendar option to select in Settings > Calendar > Default Calendar. My normal calendars are there, like Personal, Work, Family etc. But the default option at the top of the list has an alpha-numeric title consisting: 8 characters-4 characters-4 characters-4 characters-12 characters. e.g. ABCDEF1G-2HI3-4567-J890-1234KL567M89.

Does this mean anything to you?
