Outlook 2003 SEND button not working -also no drag-and-drop of attachment files to message-. SOLVED (more or less)

Solution for problem of Outlook 2003 not working in Windows 7 and 10 (Send button not working):

  1. Uninstall Outlook 2003
  2. Deactivate Adobe Creative Cloud/ Uninstall Adobe Acrobat DC and not let it start at startup.
  3. Reboot PC
  4. Reinstall Outlook 2003 in Custom Mode: Check on “Choose advanced customization of applications”.
  5. In the Microsoft Outlook application, uncheck (do not install) the .NET programmability support.
  6. Proceed with the installation.

NOTE: Yesterday I had the same problem and I realized Adobe Acrobat DC 2023 updated itself in my computer, creating the same conflict. I uninstalled it and Outlook went back to normal again. Then, after installing an earlier version of Acrobat DC (2019), the problem reappeared. I uninstalled it and now it's working OK. Very strange, I believe this has something to do with a conflict when Acrobat "grabs" Outlook and makes it it's default email server or something like that.

I will try to use Acrobat in this computer (Windows 7) on a "need to use" basis... I hope this helps.

Hi. I'm Brian and I will do my best to help you.

There are other PDF editors available that might prove less intrusive than Acrobat. A web search will find them easily. Here's one site with recommendations (although it is somewhat self-serving); https://pdf.easeus.com/pdf-editor-tips/free-pdf...

Note: EaseUS is a reliable company, as far as I can tell. I've used several of their products and found them useful and I find it laudable that they also give suggestions from other companies.

Note also that the web site I referenced isn't a Microsoft web site but it appears to contain accurate information and no potentially unwanted apps. It may, however, contain ads and use cookies, so be aware.

Hello again, thanks for all your answers. The "drag and drop" problem got solved when I uncheck the "Run as an Administrator" box in the Privilege level. It's working ok... FOR NOW!!!
