I keep hearing this argument, but lets take an example...
(1) I get absoluetly plagued with SPAM which contains the word "Oral-B" within the sender, subject or main body of the email (I believe it is an electric toothbrush, but the actual email is often not even about toothbrushes)
(2) Why can't we, as users, see this pattern and have an option to BOUNCE any email that contains the word "Oral-B". No sending to Junk Folders (where we have to sift through the emails for false positives anyway) - just completely bounced/blocked from going anywhere near our email accounts.
(3) There is literally no legitimate email that I would ever want that contains the word "Oral-B" and, even so, it should be offered as a risk we are willing to take for any word/phrase that commonly occurs in SPAM but never in my legitimate emails (e.g. "tinnitus", "bitcoin", "gift card", etc.).
Or to put it another way, LEET THE USERS BE OUR OWN SPAM POLICE, BUT GIVE US THE GOD-DAMN TOOLS TO DO SO.
Lack of such options make Microsoft complicit in this. They have given up the fight on our behalves. They can't even block the Russian "Microsoft Account Unusual Signin Activity" emails pretending to be from their own organisation FFS.
