Outlook send/receive error 0x800ccc0f & 0x800ccc1a

I have issues connecting to my work emails using outlook 365. The send/receive error keep showing error 0x800ccc0f & 0x800ccc1a.

Emails are delaying in receiving when the error occurs. But emails will load in when it can connect to the server without error.

I have scan error for my outlook pst, deleting and readding my email for existing laptop & desktop, even tried setting up on a newly formatted laptop, they are the same error showing on and off.

I also tried connecting my laptop to my office internet and my friend's home internet apparently it is working perfectly fine. No error showing at all. The only problem is when i'm using my home WIFI. Is this something to do with my internet connect? My ISP kept telling there's nothing wrong with my connection and they are unable to trace what's going on, so they said this might be an application issues.

By the way, I can use them previously without problem, this problem happens before Raya.

Can anyone help me with this?

Thank you very much in advance.

    Dear Eleni,

Please refer to the below response.

Further to the below response, just to clarify. I have been using outlook for all my work emails for years, and just recently out of no where before Raya having these issues.

I have tried all of the followings, but the issues persist.

    1. delete and readd the emails (including the pst files)
    2. scanpst & repaired for all my emails pst file
    3. disabled anti virus
    4. removed anti virus
    5. tried open outlook in safe mode
    6. repaired microsoft office through control panel (tried both quick repair & online repair)
    7. install from a newly formatted laptop (which means everything is clean and nothing else in that laptop only microsoft office)
    8. contacted my internet provider and they changed my google dns to 8.8.8.8

However, like I mentioned before, when I'm connecting to internet (from my friend & office) it is working perfectly fine without any error popping. So the error only appears when I'm connecting to my home WIFI.

Apologies, due to security policies I will have to black out all the email details from all my screenshot.

I hope you can help to find me a solution for this.

Based on your description, I understand that you have a concern with "Outlook send/receive error 0x800ccc0f & 0x800ccc1a“

Please help us in isolating the issue by providing the following information:

    1. May I know the email account you're concerned about? office email, for example **** @ companyname.com
    2. How did you configure your email account? Is it IMAP/POP or Exchange? POP incoming port 995 and outgoing port 465 or incoming port 110 and outgoing port 587.
    3. Can you please provide us a photo of the error message? Image
    4. What edition of Outlook are you using? Please follow the screenshot I have provided below.  Image

Numerous things can cause 0x800ccc0f & 0x800ccc1a error. The common reasons include:

    1. Encryption Type

In some cases, the encryption type specified (typically SSL) can also be the cause of the problem.

with SSL or without SSL seems to be having the same issues.

    Annie

I have the same issue with Outlook at home. Other family members who use Outlook do not and have never had have the issue, but I have suffered it on and off for over a year.

I have taken all the steps you list many times over (plus tried third-party software, and had three very long but unproductive on-line sessions with the MS team) and Outlook continues to freeze/fail several times a day with the dreaded 0x800CCC1A error message.

Recently I spent four weeks traveling. I used my laptop every day and did not receive a single 0x800CCC1A error message, but Outlook began freezing and showing the same error message within hours of being back and reconnecting to my home wifi.

My only suggestion to ease the frustration came from another person who has the same aggravating and apparently insoluble (for Microsoft) issue. He suggested left-clicking the network symbol, disconnecting from and immediately reconnecting to the network. It is annoying and disruptive, but (for me) it is a quick, short-term fix: Outlook immediately processes emails properly... but only until it fails the next time.

I am sorry I don't have a definitive answer. I would be delighted to hear when you find a proper solution, as would no doubt the many, many others who have the same problem and suffer in silence as nothing seems to work.

    Regards

    Dear Eleni,

    Thank you for your reply.

Technically, the emails send/receive error are as stated in the table below.

    HOME PC 1 NB 1 NB 2
    W11 + O365 W10 + O365 W10 + O2016
    LAN INTERMITTENT INTERMITTENT INTERMITTENT
    WIFI INTERMITTENT INTERMITTENT INTERMITTENT
    MOBILE DATA INTERMITTENT INTERMITTENT INTERMITTENT
    DIRECT MODE INTERMITTENT INTERMITTENT INTERMITTENT
OUTSIDE OFFICE HOUSE 1 HOUSE 2
    W11 + O365 W11 + O365 W10 + O365
LAN NOT REPLICABLE NOT REPLICABLE NOT REPLICABLE
WIFI NOT REPLICABLE NOT REPLICABLE NOT REPLICABLE
MOBILE DATA NOT REPLICABLE NOT REPLICABLE NOT REPLICABLE
DIRECT MODE NOT REPLICABLE NOT REPLICABLE NOT REPLICABLE

I won't say I totally cannot connect to my email at all, but it's just on and off showing error, which causes delay in receiving/sending. I hope you can understand better now.

I actually felt it's something to do with my home WIFI. But my internet provider kept on telling me there's no error connection showing from their system.

    1. Based on your description, this issue only happen at your Outlook client when you use your home WIFI, so I suggest to the Firewall Settings, whether the ports are blocked. I don't think anything was blocked since I checked nothing appear?
    2. Did you mean that you have two different account with different account settings ? One with SSL and another one without SSL ? Have you tried to set both account without SSL at the same time. Please make sure retype the username and password, also restart the outlook application after the resetting. Another try is to increase the server time-out.  Well, outlook sometimes doesn't auto add and I need to manually add, so the account settings for a few of them are different. And like I said I have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling outlook as well as removing and re-adding the emails on my existing laptop/desktop. Also, tried on a newly formatted laptop and that is only with one email, but the problem still remains. anyway, I tried changing the server time-out, but it's still the same.

Look forward to hearing from you, thank you for your patience!

    3. Incorrect Port Number

If the connection you are using has wrong IMAP, SMTP, or POP3 connectivity, a 0x800ccc1a error message can pop up. Usually, the user will set an incorrect port number for the outgoing server (STMP) or incoming server (POP).
