Anytime, for several months now, I hit reply to an email that has an emoji within it, Outlook for Mac completely freezes up for a long time. I've created multiple support sessions within Outlook trying to resolve this. They don't understand the issue. Anyone here have any insight? I am on a 2019 iMac running Ventura 13.0. Outlook version is 16.66.1 (22101101). This is a business PC with an Exchange email account on it.

My solution is still working -- no emoji problem anymore. Here is what I did again: I am not sure why, but switching from the old Outlook format to "New Outlook (in the top bar), then composing a message with an emoji and sending it did seem to work. The wheel spun in the new look for a bit. But then I went back to the old Outlook format and tested sending an emoji and all worked without a delay. Strange, but effective.

So yesterday I just downloaded the latest release 16.70, do you think microsoft have fixed this issue? Surprise, they have not.

I thought that buying into microsoft 365 would ensure updated bugg-free apps, but no. This is seriously making me really upset. Yesterday my onenote also stopped syncing. Had to remove all notebooks and add them again, leaving me with notes that where not connected to any notebook.

Great experience when your in the middle of a meeting and want to take some quick notes 😤

My overall experience with microsoft is that apps that are supposed to help you in your day to day work are demanding a lot of attention and energy from the user, be it troubleshooting and googling solutions or just trying to understand how all accounts and apps are connected with each other.

I agree. I still have no resolution and no one else from Microsoft has responded. Hopefully someone will sort it out soon.

    Dear M.17,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you!

First if you are using outlook for Mac, please kindly try to login OWA(outlook web app) and then check whether you can reply these emails successfully.

Besides if everything is well in OWA, then please kindly try to rebuild a test profile on your outlook client to check if these problems will still occur, please kindly refer to it: Create a new profile. Before that, in order to prevent you from losing your data, please try to back up your data, please refer to it for more details: Export items to an archive file in Outlook for Mac

If you still need further help, please let me know and I'll do more research. Thanks in advance for your understanding! Your patience and cooperation will be highly appreciated. Hope you all the best!

    Sincerely,

Kerry Chen | Microsoft Community Moderator
