Need Diane Poremsky [ M365 MVP ] - The Outlook/iCloud Guru's help

I'm trying to add icloud calendar and contact to my outlook. I've tried 'any' solution I can find, but still no luck.

I have been able to identify that the icloud add-in is installed and active in Outlook. I have also been able to identify that there is NO icloud data file. And I believe this is the source of my problem.

I've tried re-installing the iCloud app, I've tried the un-check/re-check calendar/contact option, I've tried doing this with Outlook open/closed, with our without Admin rights. I've tried creating a new Outlook profile.

I can see that I can manually add the iCloud data file, but it will not allow me to define a location, such as; C:\Users\bbifl\AppData\Local\Packages\AppleInc.iCloud_nzyj5cx40ttqa\LocalCache\Local\Outlook\B56827D3-101E-4483-B4F2-BFC7F6CBF578.aplzod

Diane, you may be my last hope before my laptop meets my wall at speed ! :O

Sorry, I was out of town when you posted this and just found it.

You are least number 3 with the missing iCloud data file. adding a data file won't help (one user tried it).

Are you using the download from the store? Try the older version for windows 8.

    http://updates-http.cdn-apple.com/2020/windows/001-39935-20200911-1A70AA56-F448-11EA-8CC0-99D41950005E/iCloudSetup.exe

You need to uninstall the store version before installing this.

Junction points or symbolic links should work -

    What is a Junction? (computerhope.com)

    Brilliant! Thanks Diane.

Noticed that iCloud does not appear as an MS Store library app eligible for update. This Win 8 version excludes the ability to relocate icloud Drive; is there a work around?

    Thanks again.

    1. What version of Outlook are you using? Go to File > Office account > About Outlook. See What version of Outlook do I have? (microsoft.com) Microsoft® Outlook® for Microsoft 365 MSO (Version 2304 Build 16.0.16327.20302) 64-bit
    2. Have you checked to make sure that your PC meets the iCloud system requirements and is connected to the internet? Yes
    3. Have you checked to make sure that the date and time settings on your PC are correct? Yes

Moreover, To set up iCloud Mail in Outlook or if you don't use iCloud for Windows, set up two-factor authentication (DONE) for your Apple ID and sign in to Outlook with your Apple ID username and an app-specific password (DONE). Please refer to If you can’t add iCloud Mail, Contacts, or Calendars to Outlook. (Yes, tried all of the steps including this one)

"When iCloud is set as your default account in Data Files, your data won't sync between your devices.

    1. Select File > Info > Account Settings > Data Files.
    2. If iCloud is listed as the default account in the Comments column, select a different account.
    3. Select Set as Default.

After you've tried these steps, restart your computer. "

THIS, I THINK, IS THE PROBLEM ... I don't have an iCloud data file. My iCloud/Outlook Calendar/Contacts are working PERFECTLY on my desktop (older machine) and I can see the iCloud data file. But on my laptop, no matter what I try, there is NO iCloud listed in my Outlook data files.

    THANKS.
