Looks like gatekeeping features within the desktop app. Very bad. Allow categories, but not filter, add shared mailbox is the worst, extremely limited features and function

    Hi Alexander YIP,

    Good day!

Thank you for posting to the Microsoft Community. We are happy to assist you!

Based on your description, we understand that your problem is "No ability to filter by Category on Outlook webmail”. Feel free to correct me if my understanding is wrong.

Please note it isn’t feasible to use the category option in the filter in OWA. This feature is still in development and it will be rolled out in December 2023, you can check in Microsoft 365 roadmap Microsoft 365 Roadmap | Microsoft 365.

    .

However, during our test, we found that if we select any category from the emails, it will open all emails that belong to the same category. So if needed as a workaround you can use this option. For easy understanding, here is a screenshot for the same.

Open the Outlook web app, click onthe Blue categoryfrom one of our emails and all emails with the Blue category appear in the list.

Thank you for your time and understanding. For other questions, feel free to add your post to the Microsoft Community team.

    Regards,

    Microsoft Community
