Hello,

I am trying to add a gmail account to my Outlook 2013 client.

When after I fill the needed fields in the add account wizard and press next it asks me again for the details including the password.

I've enabled imap in my gmail settings.

I've checked and my username and password are correct and I've marked that my server needs authentication.

although every detail is correct it still asks me in the message.

Thank you.

    Hi Tomer

I'm AnnaThomas and I'd happily help you with your question. In this Forum, we are Microsoft consumers just like yourself no one here is a Microsoft employee.

You may also need to generate an app password for your Gmail account and use it instead of your regular password in Outlook 2013. This is because Gmail uses two-step verification to protect your account from unauthorized access.

See Karl Timmerman's suggestion for reference: https://answers.microsoft.com/thread/c382d917-2248-4e08-9262-90583741d975

I hope this helps ;-), let me know if this is contrary to what you need, I would still be helpful to answer more of your questions.

    Best Regards,

    AnnaThomas

    Hi All

Considering that MS is saying that they are desupporting office 2013 from April 2023, Does the https://answers.microsoft.com/thread/c382d917-2248-4e08-9262-90583741d975 still stand valid?

    Cheers

    Ravi
