Please help - I cannot send emails to one particular client (previously no problem) without the emails bouncing back with the following message:

Your message wasn't delivered because the recipient's email provider rejected it.

BN8NAM04FT013.mail.protection.outlook.com gave this error: Access denied, sending domain [BIGPOND.COM] does not pass DMARC verification and has a DMARC policy of reject. Hi Ricky

I'm AnnaThomas and I'd happily help you with your question. In this Forum, we are Microsoft consumers just like yourself.

The email bounce message indicates that your email was rejected by Outlook because the sending domain (BIGPOND.COM) does not pass DMARC verification. DMARC is an email authentication protocol that helps to prevent email spoofing and phishing attacks.

To resolve this issue, you need to make sure that your BIGPOND.COM domain is properly configured for DMARC verification. You can do this by adding a DMARC record to your DNS zone file. The DMARC record will specify how Outlook should handle emails that fail DMARC authentication.

If you are not sure how to configure DMARC for your domain, you can contact your domain registrar or email provider for assistance.

Note: This is a non-Microsoft website. The page seems to provide accurate and reliable information. Beware of advertisements on the site that may advertise products frequently classified as PUPs (potentially unwanted products). Do thorough research on any product advertised on the site before downloading and installing it.

I hope this helps ;-), let me know if this is contrary to what you need, I would still be helpful to answer more of your questions.

    Best Regards,

    AnnaThomas

How to get my dmarc value to configure TXT value? where do i get my dmarc value? from the domain registrar or email server?

    G'day Ajay,

The problem is with Bigpond (Telstra). What Anna is saying would apply if YOU had control over @bigpond.com but unfortunately you don't.

Try to send the same email from your webmail = https://email.telstra.com/

If that works, then you need to ensure the email client you are using is actually configured correctly. Specifically for the SMTP server side of things.

Make sure you set it up using this:

Set up Telstra Mail on Outlook - Telstra

Or if you are more adventureous then go alone here:

What are the IMAP, POP and SMTP mail server settings? - Telstra

    All the best,

    Steve
