Outlook shared calender html differs from ics

Hello,

I've got the following desire: I'd like to !subscribe! to an existing shared outlook calender from another account of mine.

I've followed this support article to do so (link: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/import-or-subscribe-to-a-calendar-in-outlook-com-cff1429c-5af6-41ec-a5b4-74f2c278e98c)

Current situation:

  1. Account A: offers link to calendar via ICS and HTML
  2. Account B: want to subscribe to this calender (using ICS like the article above describes)

Expected behaviour:

  • after Account B subscribes to ICS (from A), the current calendar entries (from A) are visible in new calendar (at B)

Actual behaviour:

  • only a subset of calender entries (from A) are visible in new calendar (at B)

Sanity Test:

  1. I've opened the HTML link (from A) and looked at the existing calendar entries. All (currently existing) calender entries (from A) are visible.
  2. I've created a new EMPTY calendar (in B) and imported the ICS (downloaded from A). Which also presents the current existing calendar entries (from A)

Screenshots

First screenshot shows difference between "subscribe via ICS" and "import via ICS file"

The second shows the html view on the same calendar.

    Hello Marcel Hodan,

Thank you for posting in the Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

I understand that you are experiencing an issue with subscribing to a shared Outlook calendar using an ICS link. Based on the information you provided, it seems that only a subset of calendar entries are visible in the new calendar after subscribing to the ICS link. However, all existing calendar entries are visible when you open the HTML link.

One possible reason for this issue is that the HTML link and the ICS link may have different data. The HTML link may be showing the most up-to-date version of the calendar, while the ICS link may not have been updated with the latest changes.

To resolve this issue, I suggest that you try to refresh the ICS link by generating a new one from Account A and then subscribing to it again from Account B. You can also try to manually add the missing calendar entries to the new calendar in Account B.

If the issue persists, please let me know and I will be happy to assist you further.

    Sincerely
