My hotmail account was hacked and I've stopped recieving emails

A bunch of emails (100+?) were sent to my contacts and a lot of email addresses that I don't recognize but are from my country. It looks like my account was blocked by microsoft after that.

  • Ive got back in and changed my password to a stronger one.
  • I have plenty of storage space.
  • There is no forwarding set up.
  • I am not viewing the inbox through focus filters
  • There was plenty of suspicious device activity which I have reported, but they are now unable to access the account.
  • I can send emails

But I still can't receive emails for a few days now.

I’m using Firefox for PC and iPhone.

Question asked again because previous one has no further response, thanks.

    Hello Sandy 10101010,

    Greetings!

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

It appears that the issue of not receiving emails happened after your account was hacked.  Let us check and see on what we can do to help resolve your concern in a timely manner.

If we may ask, is this happening to all senders or specific sender only?

It is good to hear that you have recovered your hacked account and created a stronger password. Regarding the issue of not receiving emails, it's possible that the hacker may have changed some settings in your account that are preventing emails from coming through. I recommend checking your account settings to ensure that there are no filters or rules set up that could be blocking incoming emails. To check, follow these steps:

    1. At the top of the page, select Settings .
    2. Select Mail > Rules
    3. In the rule you want to delete, select Delete.

To check for blocked senders and domains:

    1. At the top of the page, select Settings .
    2. Select Mail > Junk email
    3. Check if there are domains or email address added and delete it.

You can also try adding the domains and email addresses to your safe senders and domains.

On the other hand, try accessing your account through a different browser or device to see if the issue persists.

We look forward to your response. Kindly let us know, if there is any misunderstanding or clarifications of our description by sending us a reply.

    Sincerely,

    Tomm_A

Although I got your assistance call reference 7029169252 and changed my pass word I am not happy with my password but cannot change it for 30 days as my verification email address was my old employers email account which I cannot use anymore. I believe my yearly subscription will come up for renewal before 30 days. I am not receiving emails on my hotmail email account and I am afraid that if I did use it, it could be hacked again. How can I pay my subscription without going through my hotmail email account?
