My wife and I continue to receive harassing emails from a relative. I have selected both the "block" and "sweep" function which do not seem to work, since we continue to get emails from this sender.

I have the same issue as the Kendricks. After reporting as junk and blocking, 2 spam addresses continue daily in my inbox with multiple junk messages. This has occurred for weeks.

I'd love to permanently get rid of these two sources of spam.

Since you replied to that particular message of mine you know that "block" means send to Junk, not "block at the server."

If these are being put in the Inbox you should be able to create a rule to send these to Junk or delete them. This rule could be based on sender, part of the sender's address, a word in the subject or the message or the message header.

"Block" to outlook.com means Send to Junk. It does not mean Block at the server so it doesn't reach us at all.

"Block" might be working, but not the way you want it to.

    Hello

I’m Adeyemi and I’d be happy to help you with your question.

I'm sorry to hear that you're receiving unwanted emails. Blocking a sender in your email client should prevent their emails from reaching your inbox. Here's how you can do it in Outlook, as per Microsoft Support:

    1. Block a Sender: Right-click a message from the sender you want to block, then click Junk > Block Sender. The blocked person can still send you mail, but if anything from his or her email address makes it to your email account, it’s immediately moved to the Junk Email folder

If you've already done this and the emails are still getting through, there could be a few reasons why:

    • The sender might be using different email addresses each time they send an email
    • Your email client might not be recognizing the sender's email address as blocked

If the issue persists, I recommend reaching out to your email service provider's customer support for further assistance. They should be able to help you ensure that these unwanted emails are properly blocked.

    I hope this helps
