Hello MAURACB,
Greetings!
Thank you for posting on Microsoft Community!
If your school mailbox is Microsoft Exchange, you can export all items to a .pst file from Outlook desktop client to back up the message folders locally, detailed steps for your reference: Back up your email.
After the export, you import those old .pst files into your new email account on Outlook. For detailed instructions, referrring to Import email, contacts, and calendar from an Outlook .pst file. Or you can simply open those .pst files from Outlook desktop client: Open and close Outlook Data Files (.pst).
For your second query: "to get future emails to forward to a different one". As forwarding only works on active accounts. If the account is deleted, any messages sent to that account gets bounced back with a non-delivery report.
As a workaround, if your school is using Microsoft Exchange online mailbox, you may contact IT admin of your school to create a transport rule on Exchange admin center to forward future email sent to your school mailbox to your personal mailbox:
- Go to Exchange admin center and login as Microsoft 365 admin credential.
- Select Mail flow-> Rules and Add a rule
- Set the conditions and actions of this rule as the following screenshot shows to redirect emails sent to your school email account:
If the above mentioned workaround could not address your concern, feel free to reply and provide more detailed information to us, we will continue to support you!
Sincerely,
Microsoft Community
