This message can't be sent because it no longer exists. It can only be discarded

I use outlook on the web. I've tried using Chrome and Edge and have the same issue.

I am trying to send a group email from a contact list I have created. For data protection, I am putting the contact list as a BCC. I have also put the contact list in the CC field.

When trying to send the message from a shared mailbox I get the following error message:

This message can't be sent because it no longer exists. It can only be discarded. Make sure you copy the contents of the message before you discard if you want to use them later.

How can it no longer exist when it's still on my screen?

I have double checked all email address so the issue isn't there. And even if one email address is wrong, it should still send the email to the others I would have thought?

I've never had this issue before - it only started to happen once I performed a Windows update.

Can anyone help?

We have the same issue - We have found if we expand the contact list in the email to show the contacts before clicking send, it will actually send the emails.

    Hello GIULIANO,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community, we are happy to help you here.

Based on your description, we understand you are having issue in sending email. Please follow below suggestion to address this issue:

    • Try to use another email to send out the email
    • Try to send the email in in-private mode, you can press Ctrl+Shift+N
    • Try to clear cache by create one new email, type few latters of that affected group's email id and once it's auto populate, select (x) to clear cache and then manually type entire email address of that affected contact list and check the result
    • Send us related screenshots if it is convenient.

Thank you for your understanding and co-operation.

    Regards,

    Microsoft Community
