Why is Outlook switching to Spanish (from English) when I try to add an account. It's happy for me to enter my email address but the next panel is in Spanish.

    Hello ,

I'm Shalom and I'd happily help you with your question. In this forum, we are Microsoft consumers just like yourself.

Outlook switching its language from English to Spanish when you try to add an account can occur due to several reasons. Here are some possible explanations and troubleshooting steps:

    1. Regional Settings: Outlook often detects your language settings based on the regional settings of your computer. If your computer's regional settings are set to Spanish, it may influence the language that Outlook uses. To change this:

    a. For Windows: Go to "Control Panel" > "Clock and Region" > "Region." Here, you can adjust the format and language settings. b. For Mac: Go to "System Preferences" > "Language & Region." You can change the preferred language order here.

    1. Outlook Language Settings: Outlook also has its own language settings. It's possible that the default language for your Outlook installation is set to Spanish. To change this:

    a. In Outlook, go to "File" > "Options" > "Language." b. Select your preferred language (English) from the list and set it as the primary language.

    1. Browser or Microsoft Account Settings: If you are using a web-based version of Outlook, such as Outlook.com, and you are signed in with a Microsoft account, your account settings may affect the language. Ensure that your Microsoft account settings are configured for English.
    2. Microsoft Office Language Pack: If you have installed a language pack for Microsoft Office or Outlook, it might be set to Spanish. Check your Office language settings and change them to English if needed.
    3. Reinstall or Repair Outlook: If the issue persists after trying the above steps, consider reinstalling or repairing your Outlook installation. This can help reset any language-related settings that may be causing the problem.

Remember to save any important data and settings before making changes to your Outlook configuration.

    Best Regards, Shalom
