Unable to login into Gmail on my Microsoft account?

I am attempting to 2FA my Ubisoft account to play Rainbow Six Siege ranked, and part of that process requires me to input a code that gets set to my email account. I have the Ubisoft account linked to my Xbox email because I used to play on Xbox, but when I go onto Outlook, there are no emails there. I attempted to sign in on Gmail (my account ends in @gmail.com) and when I put in the password I can confirm is correct, it says my password is wrong. All I need is this one email but I can't get it!

    Hello Jordan W

Hi, I'm Karl and will be happy to help you today.

There are two separate parts to what you have described

#1 - Any messages sent to the @gmail email address will not be delivered to your Microsoft Account where you are using the @gmail address purely as a log in ID. Those messages would be delivered to your actual @gmail account that resides on the Google servers.

#2 - As for the incorrect password issue, your only option it to follow the guidance in the following Microsoft article. If you are unable to recover the account using the steps outlined, then the account is lost.

I forgot the username or password for the account I use with Office https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/i-forgot-the-username-or-password-for-the-account-i-use-with-office-eba0b4a2-c0ae-472c-99f6-bc63ee2425a8

There is also no point in trying to contact Microsoft Support as explicitly stated at the 2m 8sec mark in the following Microsoft video

What to do if you can't sign in to your Microsoft account https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eAGyqGE8kJw&t=1s

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Just so there is no misunderstanding, this is a public user-to-user support forum. We're users helping other users. We do not work for Microsoft and have no access to any user account so there is nothing we can do or check from within the forum. We have no input on Microsoft's policies, procedures, or design decisions.

-- Is there any way I could change it to where I receive emails on Outlook instead of Gmail?

If you are asking if you can keep using the same @gmail address but have it delivered to your @outlook account, the answer is: yes and no

No if you do not have access to your actual @gmail account on the google servers

Yes if you have access to that account at which point you would have to create a forwarding rule.

Realistically, from what you have described, at least as I understand it, there is no option to get that message unless you gain access to your Gmail account. The fact that you are using a @gmail email address as a sign-in email address has no bearing on the problem.

I already reset my password but I still cant get into my account on gmail.

The password used on your Microsoft Account has nothing to do with the password for your @gmail account. These are two entirely separate accounts.

If you cannot sign into your Gmail account on the Google servers - then that is something that you need to resolve with Google, there is nothing you can do about that from the Microsoft side of things.
