    1. Change your translation settings
    2. At the top of the page, select Settings Settings > Mail > Message handling.

Under Translation, choose one of the following:

    Ask me before translating

    Never translate

    1. If you don't want Outlook to translate a certain language, choose a language in the drop-down menu under Don't translate the following languages and then select Add.

Hi Joshua, Welcome to the Microsoft Community. I am a Microsoft user just like you, and I hope you are well.

Please note: This is a user-to-user community forum. We are users just like you who help others. We are not employees of Microsoft.

There are several ways to translate an email message in Outlook using Microsoft Office 2019. Here are some options:

    1. In Outlook, you can translate words, phrases, and full messages when you need them. You can also set Outlook to automatically translate messages you receive in other languages.

    a. On the Home tab, select Translate > Translate Message.

    b. To change your translation preferences, go to Home > Translate > Translation Preferences.

    c. Here you can set your preferred language.

    d. Translate part of an email message To translate just a bit of text from a message, select that text and right-click. Outlook will show you the translation right there in the context menu that appears.

    e. you can also select text and right-click to translate to your preferred language when you're composing an email. When you click the translated text, you can insert it into the message you're writing.

    1. if first not work try this: Install the Translator for Outlook add-in:

Go to the Tools menu and select "Get Add-ins". In the search box, enter "Translator". From the drop-down list of results, select "Translator for Outlook". Select "Add" to install the add-in. Translate an email message:

Select the message you want to translate. From the Home tab, select "Translate Message". In the Translator window, select the language to which you want to translate your message, in this case, Afrikaans.

    I am NOT a Microsoft Agent/Employee.

I hope this is helpful! Best Regards, Utkarsh
