I'm getting the below message when I try to log in. I have tried on a laptop and on my phone email app.

There's a temporary problem with the service. Please try again. If you continue to get this message, try again later.

    Hello ShaunCU,

I am Ibhadighi and I would happily help you with your question. In this forum, we are Microsoft consumers just like yourself.

The error message you're encountering, "There's a temporary problem with the service. Please try again. If you continue to get this message, try again later," typically indicates a transient issue with the email service or server you're trying to access. It can be caused by various factors, including server maintenance, temporary network problems, or server-side issues.

Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the issue:

    1. Check Service Status: First, check the service status of your email provider. They may have posted information about ongoing outages or maintenance on their website or social media channels. If there's a known issue on their end, you'll need to wait for them to resolve it.
    2. Verify Internet Connection: Ensure that you have a stable and active internet connection on both your laptop and phone. A weak or intermittent connection can sometimes lead to such errors.
    3. Clear Cache and Cookies: If you are accessing your email through a web browser on your laptop, try clearing your browser's cache and cookies. This can help resolve issues related to cached data.
    4. Try a Different Browser or Email Client: If you are using a web-based email service, try accessing your email using a different web browser to see if the issue persists.
    5. Restart Devices: Try restarting both your laptop and your phone. This can sometimes resolve temporary glitches.
    6. Disable VPN or Proxy: If you are using a VPN or proxy connection, disable it temporarily and try accessing your email without it. VPNs and proxies can sometimes interfere with email services.
    7. Check Account Credentials: Ensure that you are entering the correct username and password for your email account. Double-check for any typos or mistakes.
    8. Contact Email Provider Support: If the issue persists after trying the above steps, consider reaching out to your email provider's support team. They can provide specific guidance and investigate any issues on their end.
    9. Try on a Different Network: If possible, try accessing your email from a different Wi-Fi network or mobile data connection. This can help determine if the issue is specific to your current network.
    10. Temporary Server Issue: Sometimes, these types of errors are indeed caused by temporary server problems on the email provider's end. In such cases, the issue usually resolves itself after some time. You may need to be patient and try accessing your email later.

If you continue to experience the problem for an extended period, contacting your email provider's support is the best course of action to get personalized assistance.

    I hope this helps.

    Best regards, Ibhadighi.
