Increase scam/spam filter restrictions in hotmail/outlook/live email settings

My hotmail email is probably on some scammers "people to scam" list, because I'm receiving now at least 10 scam emails per day. Too much in my opinion, and I really wonder why these aren't detected and automatically sent to the junk folder.

So my question is: are there any settings that I can change, so my inbox will be more restrictive?

I am not talking about creating filters, as scammers usually use different emails addresses/domains with each email, but about Outlook/Hotmail/Live settings. In this very old thread someone mentioned setting this More email settings > Preventing junk email > Filters and reporting > Choose a junk e-mail filter to Exclusive. Apparently these options have been removed now, both for the online email box access, as well as the Outlook app.

Please advise. I'd like to keep using this email box, but I'm afraid someday I will click the scammers link by mistake, or maybe even download some virus. Thank you.

So what's the answer to my question. Can we (regular users) make the spam/junk filter more restrictive or not? Are there any (other) settings that can do this?

Please answer to this question, I don't need any other details about how hackers, scammers or spammers work. Thank you.

Hi, that article is ages old and it is the same info from the link I've found (above). Basically there is no Home > Delete Group > Junk E-mail options > Junk E-mail anymore or any other option that I can see. Besides, I'm referring not only to the mail software Outlook, but to the security of my hotmail email as well - which I access online at https://outlook.live.com/mail/

There is no option to switch to an old version online, on the web version.

The installed version of Outlook, although it switches between old/new, still does not have any junk/spam filter settings., such as more restrictive, less restrictive, moderate restriction.

I've tried this, but when I switch to the old installed version, this looks a lot like the new version, not like your screenshot. And the options you've mentioned do not exist.

From the installed version of Outlook, you can switch to old Outlook. Then you need to follow these steps:

    1. Click Home > Delete Group > Junk E-mail options > Junk E-mail.
    2. Select the desired security level.

I will attach the screenshot for the same for your reference.
