Outllok 365 search shows only local results

Hello

We are connected in IMAP. Recently outlook search started to show only the local results

I checked the solution proposed in another thread that I copy hereunder. went to the correct location but i cannot see the option:

  • Clear the Improve search speed by limiting the number of results shown checkbox, and click OK.

We are managing approx 10 emails in outlook. We do search on all boxes I do not feel confortable creating a new profile. Not familair and Our pst files are large and we hate deleting them. The largest file is 9 Go , others are under 5. It works fine normaly.

Could you help us ?

According to your description, this may be a problem with the search settings, please allow search to show all results:

  • Open Outlook.
  • Click File > Options, and then select Search.
  • Clear the Improve search speed by limiting the number of results shown checkbox, and click OK.
  • Restart Outlook.

If it doesn’t work, here are some suggestions to narrow down this issue:

In addition, if you are using Microsoft 365 Business email account or some other email accounts, how you configured your account to Outlook? Exchange, IMAP, or POP? Could you please provide us the screenshot of the error message and the details of your Outlook Client, please click File > Office Account then take a full screenshot to me here, thanks.

    Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. Based on your description, I understand that you are experiencing issues with Outlook search showing only local results in Outlook 365. I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you.

    Regarding the solution proposed in the other thread, it seems that the option to clear the "Improve search speed by limiting the number of results shown" checkbox is not available in your Outlook version. This option is only available in certain versions of Outlook.

    1. What version of Outlook are you using? See What version of Outlook do I have? (microsoft.com)
    2. Have you checked to make sure that your Outlook is up to date? You can check for updates by going to File > Office Account > Update Options > Update Now?
    3. Have you tried rebuilding the search index? Go to File > Options > Search > Click on the "Indexing Options" button > Click on the "Advanced" button. > Click on the "Rebuild" button.
    4. Have you tried disabling any third-party add-ins that may be causing the problem? Go to File > Options > Add-ins > Under "Manage", select "COM Add-ins" and click "Go" > Clear the checkboxes for any add-ins that are not from Microsoft > Click "OK" and restart Outlook.

    If none of these steps work, you may need to create a new Outlook profile. I understand that you are hesitant to do this, but creating a new profile can often resolve issues like this. Your PST files will not be deleted, but you will need to add them to the new profile.
