Outlook.com not working with Mailbird

I have several outlook accounts, since yesterday none of them are working with Outlook.

In the account setup screen the Test Connection button works. Everything is fine.

However, when Mailbird tries to actually log in to get mail I get Server authentication failed.

I've tried deleted one of the less used accounts and adding it back in. This did not solve the problem.

i found this suggestion in a reddit post so i cant take credit,, but so far it has worked for me

changing the IMAP and SMTP servers to old MS versions:

    imap-mail.outlook.com port 993

    smtp-mail.outlook.com port 587 using STARTTLS

except i had to use ssl/tls toggle settings then mine would work

All Microsoft email accounts seem to have the same issue with Mailbird: Live, Hotmail, and Outlook. I use 8 different Microsoft accounts, and they do not work now with Mailbird. Mailbird support reports that is a Microsoft issue and not a Mailbird settings problem. All they do is blame Mailbird, which worked just fine in the last 7 years with all Microsoft accounts, and now, suddenly, all Mailbird users cannot use their Microsoft accounts.
You have to understand that people like me, who actively use several Microsoft accounts (I use 8), cannot open a different browser for every email account, to read and reply to emails.
By the way, I use paid Microsoft email accounts, which is even more annoying.
I did try everything you suggested, but nothing worked.
There is a real fix for that?

The same thing happened to me. I changed the settings, 10 minutes later the problem had returned.

I installed Thunderbird. It gives a better error message.

It seems that someone hasn''t updated the security tokens on the servers.

I am getting the same problem that I cannot authenticate my outlook.com email address in Mailbird client. I have removed and added, checked all settings but nothing was changed on my end. Mailbird support stated they are getting many calls with Outlook emails not authenticating. They stated it is an Outlook issue and to contact Microsoft.
