How do I install an IMAP email account in Outlook (Windows 11)

Purchased a new computer with Windows 11 and need to set up the IMAP email account previously used with the old computer. When I enter all of the IMAP settings manually (auto does not work), I cannot proceed to next step and complete the set up. I also need to check the "requires secure connection box" which is not present.

I tried the "auto" option for both Outlook apps. With NEW, I got this error:

With the OLD, I got this error (after I was able to check the authentication box):

This is also the error that I got the first time.

Hi, I'm Diane and I'm happy to help you today.

What exactly happens? Do you get any error messages?

    Who is your email provider?

Are you using the new Outlook or classic Outlook desktop software that is installed with Office desktop software ? If you have a file tab, it is the classic Outlook. https://learn-attachment.microsoft.com/api/attachments/cb07d33b-3f40-44b3-b000-26ad2d4f3559?platform=QnA

Let me know how it goes, I'm here to help you further if needed.

Spectrum requires the authentication box to be checked, but there is no box in the IMAP options.

Auto account setup should enable the proper authentication options.

If the account is added to Outlook, you can check the settings - https://learn-attachment.microsoft.com/api/attachments/ee8b0d48-dae1-424b-a480-8f049bb6a9d8?platform=QnA

I have tried both versions of Outlook. I do not receive an error message, instead after entering all of the correct settings for an IMAP account, the computer attempts to contact the server. There is no connection and a small window pops requesting the same log in information over and over. I use spectrum but the login includes charter in the information (mobile.charter.net). Spectrum requires the authentication box to be checked, but there is no box in the IMAP options. I tried using POP, but it didn't work. BTW, I never get the views that you are showing above.
