how do i open a pst file in the new outlook

I wish you would stop messing with our emails. I have just spent 45 minutes putting my email accounts BACK into Outlook because you FORCED new outlook on me. And Yahoo won't work! I can't get a screen with the password input, totally bombs. it's all Unacceptable. And now since you haven't 'developed' enough to import PST files, important emails i have in a back up, are inaccessible! You have just totally turned my life upside down! It's totally unnecessary. Just leave things alone! Email is fine, for years. we don't need anything. No one wants their life screwed up as badly as you guys have just done!

So the last 20 years of emails with contract details and delivery trails etc are not accessible for now but you might get round to it sometime in the next 10 years. History of emails can be very important in business and you don't understand that.

You can't yet. Thanks Microsoft for causing these issues - I spent 2 days trying to figure out why my emails from standard Outlook were not going and now I know why

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community.

I do understand your query here, but open and access PST files feature is not yet available in the new Outlook. PST files can only be opened in the Classic Outlook for windows app at the moment. The new Outlook for Windows only supports managing online .PST files that are stored on Microsoft Exchange servers directly. However, please note that this feature is currently not available but under development by the team as requested by many users.  If you want to open PST files in Outlook, you may consider toggling out of the new Outlook for Windows preview for now.

I feel for you. I am in the same sitiuation. I have around 5 years of emails on the old outlook with backed up PST file/s and can't move them to the New Outlook. I have created all my contacts and Calendar entries in the New Outlook but can't get my emails via any route ie. exporting to another email client and then importing from that client to the Outlook NEW. Well Microsoft what you doing about this situation = email worked perfectly from 2019 to 2024!!
