    Hello,

Thank you for coming to the forum. My name is Fuad, If you do not mind me coming in and explaining what happened, I will still give you the steps to contact support, but they will not be able to assist you.

First, I am very sorry about the situation you are currently facing.

From reading your post, you added a new alias, and then removed the old one mistakenly during this process, and now it is not letting you access the old alias any more?

Alias, is for creating a new way to sign in and not to rename your email or unlink it. If you remove the previous primary email after making another primary (even in error), you will not be able to create it or access it again, especially if the previous primary ends with @hotmail.com, @live.com, @outlook.com, or @msn.com. If removed, you have mistakenly deleted that account forever. Microsoft do not recycle email address, so once removed, it is permanently blocked from being used again.

When you try to sign back into the account, it will say it does not exist (because it has been removed). If you try to create it again, it will say already used because Microsoft has locked that address, and no one including you can ever open an email with that address again.

You can read all the above from this Microsoft documentation (under remove alias): https://support.microsoft.com/help/459b1989-356d-40fa-a689-8f285b13f1f2 .

I am sorry that email address is gone for good.

There is no resolution, you will need to contact all the services linked to the email address and ask to change your email on file.

To contact support, please follow the steps below exactly

Sign in to your Microsoft account on your browser (account.microsoft.com) and click the link below for support https://support.microsoft.com/contactus

Click Microsoft 365 Click on Get Home Support In the box shown type "Outlook.com issues" and select it from the options Now scroll down and click Contact Support (near the bottom a little to the left of the center) In the next screen it will ask for more details (fill in as appropriate) In products and services: select Microsoft 365 and office in the category select: Outlook Click confirm Click Chat with a support agent in your browser

    Best Regards Fuad

Thanks Umar for your reply, the problem is a lil bit complicated and i need to contact support team.

When i try to recover, i get message. “This email doesn’t exist”.

Then i try to go create a new email with same address i get “ this email already taken”.

all that happened after adding a new email alias. Then it was replaced the old email address.

Hi Omar, My name is Umar, and I'd be happy to help you out with your question.

Please note: This is a user-to-user community forum. We are users just like you who help others. We are not employees of Microsoft.

If you are trying to restore your old email account and you are receiving the message "This email is part of a reserved domain. Please enter a different email address," it is possible that the email address you are trying to use is not available for use. This could be because the email address is reserved by the email service provider or because it is already in use by another account. To restore your old email account, you can try the following steps:

    1. Check for Account Recovery Options: Explore any account recovery options provided by the platform. This might involve additional verification steps to prove your identity. Look for options like account recovery forms, two-factor authentication, or other identity verification methods.
    2. Provide proof of ownership: If you can provide proof of ownership for the old email address, such as previous emails, account information, or any other relevant details, it may help in the recovery process. Gather any information or documentation that can verify your ownership of the old email address and provide it to the customer support team.
    3. Be patient and persistent: Recovering an old email address can sometimes take time and require persistence.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let me know if you have any other questions.
