Permanently delete suspected Junk Mail option is not working.

I have tried every angle to clean up the junk mail that I am receiving. I even have it set to Safe Lists only, plus Permanently delete messages before they go to Junk. This is the highest level I can go, yet I am still receiving junk messages, primarily from Outlook.com addresses. How can we stop this?

Hello Jackson, Technical Support tried twice and could not resolve the problem. They recognized that this is a genuine flaw in the system and I am told they will escalate it to the next level, to see if their supervisors could fix the problem.

I explained that you cannot build a rule to address the issue, because Rules only work on mail in the Inbox. Outlook has already identified the item as Junk and placed it in the Junk Folder.

The statement "Permanently delete suspected junk email instead of moving it to the Junk email folder" is the problem as the mail has already entered the Junk folder.

Will let you know if anyone gets back to me with a solution.

I don't understand what you are asking me to do. All the self help tips have been exhausted. The issue is as previously stated.

"Permanently delete suspected junk email instead of moving it to the Junk email folder" option is not working. I am still getting messages in the Junk folder.

Hello Jackson, I have already followed all these steps, from a previous posting you made. I still find that the option to "Permanently delete suspected junk....." does not work, as I am still seeing junk mail appearing in the Junk folder.

In addition, I am unable to apply a meaningful rule to block the messages, as the subject lines usually contain a number. Rules only allow for identifying text.

Thanks Jackson, I am in communication with the Technical Support Team at Microsoft and so far they have been unable to resolve the issue.

I hope to get a solution and if so will then post it.

    Hi Tony,

My name is Jackson and thank you for your question.

I'm sorry for the problem you're having with unwanted emails, I'm a user myself and don't work for Microsoft so I understand how frustrating it is.

Outlook spam issues are a known issue as several users have experienced an increase in spam messages passing through the Outlook filter and this has been reported to the Microsoft team and we are waiting for an update to resolve this soon but there are few steps we can take on our path to reducing the problem.

If you use the Outlook application, you can change the security level in the junk email filter to be more aggressive or to delete junk email automatically. https://support.microsoft.com/office/e89c12d8-9d61-4320-8c57-d982c8d52f6b

If you continue to receive spam messages, in situations where blocking senders doesn't work or you don't see the sender's email address, it's helpful to create rules that filter out certain keywords or flag emails from anonymous senders and send them to junk mail.

    " I pulled the following steps from https://support.microsoft.com/office/a3ece97b-82f8-4a5e-9ac3-e92fa6427ae4 :

" More options to keep spam or unwanted emails out of your inbox

    1. Block all unknown senders
    2. Create a rule to delete unwanted emails.
    3. Hide your email address
    4. Ignore spam or instant messages
    5. Improve PC security
    6. Unsubscribe from newsletters and campaigns
    7. Only share your emails with people you know""

See details on how to perform the next steps in the link above.

    Warm regards,

    Jackson E.
