Adobe Acrobat Handler w/ "New" Outlook

Hi,

I was wondering if there was an issue w/ the current Adobe Acrobat version or the lack of integration w/ Adobe Acrobat within the new Outlook. Is there a way to "open with Adobe" for the app like you can with opening excels in the local excel client? I understand Acrobat can be a handler for PDF's in older versions and even set as a system default but was wondering if there was any way to use it as previously before, but on the new version of outlook?

Is this something that is coming to the application?

Thanks!

The actions above didn't solve the problem. I want to open a pdf attachment in Outlook and have the pdf attachment open in Adobe Acrobat not preview or download. Downloading takes about 5 more steps. Grrr

If you switch back to the classic version this issue does not happen, however just like Josh, I need to use the new outlook. Honestly the new outlook is easier for me to use except for this one aspect, it really slows down my day.

    Hi Sherry,

I appreciate the reply and I will work with our internal Admin to get a support ticket created with Microsoft about this request. Unfortunately we are unable to switch to classic because the client is using Co-pilot and the feature will not work for them in classic mode so we had to rule that out. Yes within classic Adobe works as a handler but with their desire to use co-pilot we are pushed to keep them in the new experience. I appreciate your assistance with this and it's safe to close this out.

    Thank you!

    Hi Sherry,

I appreciate the reply about my question and I wanted to give some feedback to help narrow this down further. When I was working with our client I noticed the Adobe Acrobat Reader is set to the system's default for pdf(and all types of pdf extensions) file types so in theory this should have forced the outlook application to use adobe as its pdf handler. When trying to open a pdf within the new outlook experience the only options he gets is pictured below. Based on the icon for the file it tells me the system is not using adobe as you'd see the icon for acrobat instead of the system default for pdfs.

Please advise. The current method is to Download the file and then open locally within Adobe.
