The title of my emails in the Reading Pane in Outlook displays the 'From' and 'Subject' all on the same line making it difficult to read, it should only display the 'From' first, then the 'Subject', then the first line of the email. I've searched the View pane but I can't find how to reconfigure this. Can you help?

    Hello Hazmeleri,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community, we are happy to assist!

Correct me if I misunderstood, but the challenge you are facing is that the order of display is not the right one. it should have 3 lines, a line with "from", a line for the "subject" and a line displaying the first line of the email.

Below are the steps for both the Classic Outlook and the New Outlook.

If you are using the classic Outlook:

    Please try this:

    Open Outlook

    Viewtab > View Settings >

In the Advanced View Settings window, click on Columns.

In the Show Columns window, scroll down and select the "From" and "Subject" columns.

Click on the "Move Up" button to move the "From" column above the "Subject" column.

    Click OK

    Also Check:

    Open Outlook

    Click Viewtab****>View Settings

In the Advanced View Settings window, click on Other Settings

Please make sure to check "use compact layout in widths smaller than..."

you can also experiment with the number of characters to match your desired layout

    Click OK>OK.

If you are using the New Outlook for Windows:

    Please try this:

    ViewView settings > MailLayout
please check and choose the right options for:

    Message list format

    Message preview text

We are happy to provide any further assistance if needed.

    Your feedback is highly appreciated

    Best Regards,

    Greetings

It looks as if you require the display to be compact.

Go to "View" and then press the "Change view" button.

    From here, simply choose "Compact".

Let me know if this helps.
