I have a outlook.com email. I pay for MS365. I try to set rules up through the web/browser and also through the app on my windows 11 computer. I make a rule, uncheck "stop processing more rules" hit save. But it wont save. all my rules continue to say (action) and "Stop processing more rules". I am about ready to drop this email. I get 80+ spam in my junk folder a day and 1-2 emails that I need. My receipt for MS365 even went to junk. I am trying to set a rule so that spam (and MS KNOWS it is spam and won't do a d@mn thing about stopping it at the server) goes right into the deleted items folder.

Thanks for the help. Now important and marked safe emails are going right to my deleted folder. Even when they don't meet the conditions of the rules.

I think the best course of action is to nuke this outlook.com email and move my email service to a better provider.

Ridiculous that Microsoft can't fix this. I'm having the same exact problem. I can't save the rules settings that I want and need to efficiently manage email. And the suggestion that I have to create a new profile in the account settings? Stupid. How do I know the new profile won't have the same problem! This issue really needs to be broadcast to the world so they know how worthless Outlook mail is. I certainly don't have this issue with Gmail or iCloud email.

I even got as far as speaking to their support teams in India and they stated that on their systems, the issue wasn't showing up and just closed my support ticket down. Really poor

Agree. It is not like this is a free Hotmail account. I pay real American dollars for MS365 and they cant put a decent filter at the server? Emails that have no email address come right through. Obviously fake emails with onmicrosoft.com address – come on in. My free gmail doesn’t have these issues. Libre office and gmail. I don’t need to pay for 365 when my subscription expires.

Primarily windows 11 computer. But also access email through the outlook app or web browser on a windows 10 computer, iPhone and iPad.

    It is personal MS365.

It happens in Edge, Firefox, and Chrome. On the Windows 11 computer I use the outlook app that comes with the computer.

    The email is a @outlook.com

The outlook app that came stock on the PC has no file tab. It looks just like the web browser UI.

I have set all email that I don’t mark as safe to be filtered to the junk mail folder. My junk folder is full of spam. There are a couple of “important” emails that get put into the junk folder. I do not want to wade through 87 emails to find the 1-2 that I need and mark safe.

But if these rules only apply to the inbox and not the junk folder. Then this is a waste of time. I need rules that work at the server level, so they get moved to the deleted folder before they make it to the junk folder. If outlook can’t do that then I need to move my email away from @outlook.com.
