    Hello! Clifford Ward

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community

I understand how troublesome it can be when emails don’t reach their intended recipients. Let’s troubleshoot this issue with your Yahoo Mail.

    Allow me to ask:

    • May I know how do you access your emails? is it through Outlook.com (web)? Outlook application (included in Microsoft 365 subscription)? New Outlook for Windows? Classic Outlook for Windows (Windows Mail app)? Outlook application for mobiles?
      • What version and edition of Office do you have installed in your device? Example: Personal/Family/Enterprise?
        • You can open any Office apps
        • Go to File > Accounts - on the right side you can see Product Information
    • Is this only happening in the Yahoo.com recipient? or does it happen to other domains?
    • I would like to know what @domain and who is hosting your email account? example for @domains: Gmail.com, Yahoo.com, Outlook.com/Hotmail.com
      • May I know if the account is for Work/School use? or Personal (Hotmail/Outlook.com) use?
    • Is this happening to other devices, browsers, and networks?

Here are some steps you can take to identify the problem:

    1. Check Your Account Settings:
      • Verify that your reply-to address is correct.
      • Make sure you haven’t accidentally blocked the sender’s address or the entire domain.
      • Check your spam folder to ensure the email wasn’t incorrectly marked.
      • Review your email filters to see if the message ended up in another folder.
    2. Test Your Account:
      • Sign in to your Yahoo Mail account on a computer.
      • Send yourself an email. If you receive it without any errors, your account is working as expected.
      • If you encounter an error, the instructions to fix it should be included in the error message.
    3. Ask the Sender to Verify:
      • If your account seems fine, the issue might be on the sender’s side.
      • Confirm that the sender entered your full email address correctly.
      • Suggest that they contact their email provider for further assistance.
    4. Password Recovery Emails:
      • If you’re not receiving password recovery emails, it could be due to an inactive or recycled Yahoo account.
      • Yahoo may not allow recovery emails to be sent to recycled email addresses to prevent identity theft.
      • To resolve this, sign into your Yahoo email account to reactivate it.

Please note if you are using Yahoo.com as a domain we have limited resources of the server level in the backend of Yahoo.com as this is not hosted by Microsoft if you have any issue with the Yahoo.com mail I would suggest to contact their support.

Remember, communication hiccups happen, but we’ll get those emails flowing smoothly again!

    Thank you,

    Vince

Alexander, I’ve been getting the SAME notice when I send emails to my mom’s yahoo email address. It makes NO SENSE as I’ve sent emails to her before with no problems. WHY IS THIS HAPPENING? I can receive emails FROM her but can’t send messages TO her without getting an error message. It’s apparent I’m not the only one having this issue.

PLEASE fix this or tell me how I can.

    THANK YOU

If you use your own domain name, create SPF, DMARC and DKIM records for the domain.

Set up SPF to identify valid email sources for your Microsoft 365 domain https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/security/office-365-security/email-authentication-spf-configure?view=o365-worldwide
