Using Classic Outlook on Windows for personal email, calendar, and contact management
This is a problem for EVERYONE. Microsoft is basically forcing you to use Teams.

Hi all,
I recently updated to the newest Outlook version after the big update (I believe it's the beta version / "New Outlook"). Unfortunately, after updating to the new version, there's no longer a link between my Outlook and Zoom accounts. In the "New event - Calendar" view, I used to be able to click a button and it would automatically create a Zoom call with a link. Now the only option is to create a teams meeting, which my organization doesn't use.
Can you please help me figure this out? I looked online as much as I could but with the new Outlook version having just come out within the last couple weeks, there is little to no information available on this. I'm not sure if there is a new installation process or maybe just a toggle I'm not finding in the settings but I need to be able to schedule calls asap.
Thanks in advance,
Brandon

It appears that the geniuses have done it once again- destroying the ZOOM capabilities in 'old' outlook- ostensibly to force people to migrate to the 'new' outlook- a hilariously childlike facsimile of a once-useful app.
Hi Ashraf!
Thank you for the prompt reply. I'm able to get through step 3 without any issues. Unfortunately, once I get to " Select Zoom from the list of meeting providers.", the only option I have available to me is "Microsoft Teams". Which leads me to believe that my Outlook and Zoom are no longer talking to each other for some reason.
I've tried downloading Zoom and starting the integration between Zoom and Outlook again but no success. Maybe I missed something? What next steps do you recommend?
Thanks again,
Brandon
Dear Carmike77,
Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community.
Based on your description, I understand that you cannot set up Zoom meetings in the new Outlook. My apologies for the inconvenience that this is causing you.
May I kindly know if you have added the Zoom add-in in your New-Outlook settings, please see below.
- Open your New-Outlook and click the settings icon
-->View All settings.
- Click the Events and invitations tab.
- Ensure the check box next to Add online meeting to all meetings option is enabled.
- Select Zoom from the list of meeting providers.
- Click Save and restart Outlook.
- Then try to begin scheduling an Outlook meeting and wait for a few seconds.
If you cannot see these options, kindly share with me a screenshot of your 'Events and Invitations' settings in your Outlook.
Please let me know as well if you can successfully schedule meetings with the Zoom add-in via Outlook on the web (https://outlook.office.com/).
We look forward to hearing from you. We will continue to assist you based on the information you provide. We sincerely thank you for your patience and cooperation.
Thank you for your precious time and have a nice day.
Best Regards,
Ashraf
Hi,
I cannot access ZOOM link emails in my msn email. I tried to follow your instructions above (to CarMike77 on May 15, 2023), but under "view/events & invitations," and "add online meeting for all meetings," I find NO option for Zoom; the only option is "Skype for consumer." That was the case whether the "add online meeting..." was checked or unchecked. (Also, I took a screenshot of the "settings: events, invitation" image, but it seems like it didn't upload, despite a tag on the top of this very message that says "Image inserted successfully.")
More importantly, I don't know if your instructions above ONLY address adding a ZOOM link to the Outlook calendar. I'm missing something more significant: I can't even access the email which contains the ZOOM link. I spent several hours back and forth with the ZOOM-link email sender. She was perplexed and sent 2 additional ZOOM link emails. (FYI, I checked every email in my inbox and every email in my junk folder and every email in my deleted folder: nothing with a ZOOM link. The only fix was to send that ZOOM link to a Gmail account.)
Any suggestions?
Many thanks,
odranid
