Hi Katey,
I'm Diane and I'm happy to help you today.
Spammers send meeting invite spam because it's an easy way to get past filters.
If the meeting request is in your Inbox DO NOT respond to it. You'll just end on more spam lists. It verifies your address is good and valid addresses are worth more on the spammer’s resale markets. If the tentative meeting is on your calendar, delete it too. Deleting the invitation from your Inbox will not delete it from the calendar.
If you are getting a lot of meeting request spam in your Inbox, you can make a rule to delete meeting requests. Don’t forget to set an exception for people who send you legitimate meeting requests.
Note that rules won't apply to messages the Junk mail filter puts in the Junk Mail folder.
You can create a rule in either Outlook on the web or in Outlook desktop.
In Outlook desktop, you'll create a rule that uses the form name form
Then choose Application Formats > Meeting Request.
Add an exception for addresses in your address book.
In Outlook on the web, open Settings (gear icon) > View all Outlook settings > Rules.
Create a new rule, choose Type as the condition and Invitation as the type.
Use Delete as the Action.
You can add additional conditions or exceptions if you receive legitimate meeting invitations to this address.
The above is from my article at https://www.slipstick.com/outlook/email/meeting-request-spam/ - I have screenshot there if you need them.
