I basically had to move all my invites to gmail and trash the outlook calendar. I never opened an email, but did try to decline the invite.

I have gotten 5 more in a few days after. More of my calendar was unwanted appts than actual real ones so it is frustrating.

These email create a rule did not work for me, and would be untenable doing this weekly.

If they are finding me, I have to think this is more widespread problem and am surprised there isn't a real way to limit this yet.

I have the same issue and also have an active calendar with a large number of legitimate invitations every week. Creating a rule to delete calendar invites is not tenable. I've noticed the invites go straight to my calendar rather than to my inbox. Is there a way to force all invites to go to my inbox? That way I could block the sender and delete the invite directly.

This is becoming a huge problem. I live by my calendar, and find it hard to believe MSFT has no way to protect us from spam in calendar items? Come on now. I see no setting throughout any of my MSFT settings to offset this and I cant delete items from my phone. So I have to login on a computer, go to calendar and delete the items. Daily. Its ridiculous. None of the commands or guidance in this series of responses works and none of the options mentioned appear available in my Office365.

MSFT needs to get a security patch or something asap.

I don’t see where to add email contacts to the exceptions. But the other info was helpful.

However even saving that rule without the exception won’t delete the invite.

This only happens with Hotmail calendar and email. 30 years on Hotmail also but this is gonna break me from it if I can’t delete this junk off my calendar.

    Hi Katey,

I'm Diane and I'm happy to help you today.

Spammers send meeting invite spam because it's an easy way to get past filters.

If the meeting request is in your Inbox DO NOT respond to it. You'll just end on more spam lists. It verifies your address is good and valid addresses are worth more on the spammer’s resale markets. If the tentative meeting is on your calendar, delete it too. Deleting the invitation from your Inbox will not delete it from the calendar.

If you are getting a lot of meeting request spam in your Inbox, you can make a rule to delete meeting requests. Don’t forget to set an exception for people who send you legitimate meeting requests.

Note that rules won't apply to messages the Junk mail filter puts in the Junk Mail folder.

You can create a rule in either Outlook on the web or in Outlook desktop.

In Outlook desktop, you'll create a rule that uses the form name form Then choose Application Formats > Meeting Request. Add an exception for addresses in your address book.

In Outlook on the web, open Settings (gear icon) > View all Outlook settings > Rules. Create a new rule, choose Type as the condition and Invitation as the type. Use Delete as the Action. You can add additional conditions or exceptions if you receive legitimate meeting invitations to this address.

The above is from my article at https://www.slipstick.com/outlook/email/meeting-request-spam/ - I have screenshot there if you need them.

Let me know how it goes, I'm here to help you further if needed.
