New Outlook Interface - IMAP Email Accounts won't sync

I have Windows 10 and Office 365

I have an Imap email through my hosting company for my domain. I can log in to my accounts through their respective online interfaces.
I also have a Gmail account and an outlook account.
I am able to get Gmail to check all my accounts with out any problems.

The new Outlook seems to have hosed my Hosted domain Imap email because Outlook will not sync using the same settings that works everywhere else.

What did you guys do to Outlook 365? Even if I switch back to the old Outlook, it will not sync to my Imap.

it seems every time you guys push something out it screws those who are still using the last version of Windows. I cannot upgrade to win 11 because my laptop only has 2 cores. Lenovo Yoga 900

My experience: After switching over to the "New" Outlook, I was able to get all my email accounts working, or so I thought. After trying to send quotes to numerous customers and them receiving nothing, I started doing some research. Turns out that my messages seemed to be sent normally, nothing in the outbox or errors, however, they went NOWHERE! They do show up in my sent box, but never go to the recipient. Thank goodness, I have an older version of Outlook that still works properly, or I can use the web version. When is this "work in progress" going to work?????? This is a very serious problem and should have been resolved BEFORE releasing.

Well, HELL, tell your programmers that it would have been nice to have a warning or maybe make the new version smart enough to look at the older version and see I had a general Imap account.

So what do I do now that I shut off the new version and the older version will not sync with the general Imap account???

Also my Outlook app on my Motorola 5G Ace will not sync. Seems they did more than just push out a work in progress.

Maybe I should just ditch MS Outlook?? I am not going to spend the money to get a new computer just for email.

    What if I use POP

Who are "your programmers"? We're not Microsoft here. We're just users like you trying to help other users.

Do you not have the switch at the top that allows you to revert to classic Outlook? Even if you don't, classic Outlook is still on your computer. Open C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\root\Office16 and look for outlook.exe. Create a shortcut that points to it. That should allow classic Outlook to run as well.

If not, you can change a value in the registry to have classic Outlook to run. Open regedit and navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Preferences. Under that should be a key UseNewOutlook that is set to 1. Set it to 0. Then the shortcut to outlook.exe you created should run classic Outlook again.

Hi. I'm Brian and I'll try to help.

The new Outlook is a work in progress and does not yet support general IMAP accounts. It will support Exchange accounts and Gmail, but not others like IMAP accounts like Yahoo, AOL, iCloud and so on.

thanks Bill, I know you guys are helpers but someone from MS must monitor these communications? or maybe they don't really care, it seems to be a corporate culture these days. People are just a commodity.

Anyway it took me too much work to get it back to order. It is 10:30 on Friday. I posted this thread on Thursday after much frustration.
The issue initially was that when I did revert back to the old interface, the imap account did not work and it took too long to and to much effort to get back to normal.

Nothing is easy when it comes to MS and I have MS Certs too. yea back in the 90's and early 2000s I did all the tech stuff. Now retired, I just want it to not be so hard to deal with. Life is too short.

    You may mark this solved.
