When I receive a message recall request - how do I answer so that the email is recalled?

I can't find an "accept the recall" button or anything on the ribbon so that I can allow Outlook to recall the requested message. I might be blind and it's easier than what I'm trying to find, but I don't know.

    Dear Patti Quarles,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community.

In order to understand your query and provide possible solution, May I please double confirm if you are using the new Outlook for windows or classic Outlook for windows? Could you please provide us with the screenshot of your Outlook version details? see What version of Outlook do I have? - Microsoft Support

If you are using Classic Outlook for windows, May I please know if you are using the new cloud-based recall function or the old recall function? You can refer to Cloud-based Message Recall in Exchange Online - Microsoft Community Hub

If you are using cloud-based recall function, you (the recipient) will not require to confirm the recall or to accept the recall request, if the sender recalled the sent email from their side, it will be recalled automatically from the recipient's inbox.

However, you don't need to click on any button or option in Outlook to accept or decline the recall request. if you are using the old recall function and if the sender has requested to recall a message, you will prompted to confirm the recall action with the following dialog box. You can simply click OK. Once you clicked OK button and give permission to recall the message, the message will be recalled from your inbox.

Please feel free to let me know if there are any other question or if I've got you wrong.

Thank you for your precious time. Have a nice day.

    Sincerely,

My computer is not a "stand alone" computer -- it's part of a huge network of our Corporate servers. I'm unable to access anything regarding Office 365 on my computer so I'm sure any recalled messages are automatically recalled and I truly don't need to do anything. We have the "new" Outlook, so I'm sure what you said about having the new outlook and not having to do anything is my situation. I just thought the email would go away once I opened the email advising the sender would like to recall that email, rather than allowing me to open and read the recalled email.

Thank you so much for your time and expertise.

    Dear Patti Quarles,

Many thanks for your kind update,

Yes, only senders need to use classic Outlook for Windows to recall messages. Since you are the recipient, if you are using any email client, the message will be automatically called from the server. With the new recall function, recipients are no longer required to confirm or give permission.

In the meantime, please feel free to let me now if there are any questions and if incase my reply helps to clarify the issue, could you please help to vote or submit feedback on my above reply? it helps other user who are searching for the same information. Thanks for your support and understanding.
