Hi there -

I am having difficulty with my outlook - when I open a new email, the new email window hides behind my inbox and I cannot pull up front to utilize it. I can't even type on it or send the email. I am unsure what to do here and was hoping that you could help me? I tried using ALT/TAB but still cannot see it or use it. I am using 365.

Please advise when you can thanks!

Hi Dean Thank you for posting on Microsoft Community. I will be happy to help. I am a user just like you and only trying to advice/ assist in a best possible way I could resolve your issue.

Sorry your new email window gets stuck behind the inbox in Outlook 365. Here are some troubleshooting steps that might help you bring it back to the front:

    1. Bring Focus to Background Window:

Press Alt+Tab repeatedly to cycle through open windows. While holding Alt, tap Tab once or twice until you hear a different chime (indicating a minimized window). Release Alt and press Spacebar to bring the hidden window to the front. 2. Use the Taskbar:

Look for the icon representing the new email window on the taskbar. Right-click the icon and select Restore or Maximize to bring the window to the foreground. 3. Minimize and Restore Inbox:

Click the minimize button on your inbox window to see if the new email window appears in front. Then, click the restore button on the email window to maximize it. 4. Check "Always on Top" Setting:

Right-click the Outlook taskbar icon and select Properties. Uncheck the Always on top box if it's enabled. This might prevent the inbox from overlapping the new email window. 5. Disable Reading Pane:

Click the View tab on the ribbon. Click Reading Pane and select Off. This can sometimes resolve window overlapping issues. 6. Reset View Settings:

Click the View tab on the ribbon. Click Reset View and select Reset All Views. This will restore default window layout settings, which might resolve the issue. 7. Start in Safe Mode:

Press and hold the Ctrl key while launching Outlook. This will start in Safe Mode, disabling add-ins that might be causing the problem. If the issue persists in Safe Mode, it's not related to add-ins. 8. Repair Outlook:

Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features. Select Microsoft Office 365 and click Change. Choose Quick Repair and follow the on-screen instructions. If that doesn't work, try Online Repair. 9. Reinstall Outlook:

As a last resort, you can uninstall and reinstall Outlook 365. Make sure you back up your data before proceeding. Remember to restart your computer after trying any of these steps.

    I hope this helps!

    Kind regards -Adedayo
