Yeah, I ran into the same stuff. The sad part is that Microsoft won't work on fixing the problem and are determined to go ahead with rollout of the new Outlook regardless. I did get a suggested work-around which I've now implemented: I'm using Thunderbird as my mail server instead of Mail or Outlook.
How do I add my Earthlink.net account to the new Outlook on my new Windows laptop? "Add account" doesn't recognize it.

2024-04-11T23:05:12+00:00 I am having the same issue when trying to connect my Earthlink email address to Outlook. I get a Microsoft 365 pop up asking for my email and password. It's telling me one or both are wrong - they are not. The 24/7 support number at the top of the pop up is for Go Daddy and when I call it, the caller ID says I'm calling Cajun Yum Yum - and I am not kidding! 480-505-8877.
I thought the issue may be that I originally set up my account as business and MS and Go Daddy have some sort of email arrangement. SO, I ended my free "Business" trial and purchased a MS 365 personal/home use subscription today. That has no effect. I am still getting the same pop up with the Go Daddy support number and I'm still not able to link my Earthlink email, which I have had for 20 years, to the new Outlook.
Very disappointed.
