Hi, Luann. I am an independent advisor, trying to help other users in the Community with my experience in Microsoft products. Please note that I am a user like you and don't work directly for Microsoft.

Yes, you can add your Comcast Email to the new Outlook. Here’s a general guide on how to do it:

"Open Outlook and click on the File menu. Select Add Account. Enter your Comcast email address and click Connect. Choose IMAP as the account type. Enter imap.comcast.net for the Incoming mail server. Enter smtp.comcast.net for the Outgoing mail server. Enter your Comcast email address as the username. Type in your password. Use 993 for the incoming port and 465 for the outgoing port. Ensure both Use SSL to connect options are checked. Click Add Account or Finish.

Make sure to allow access to third-party programs on the Xfinity Email website before setting up your Comcast.net email in Outlook"

Thanks. I was worried about all my old .pst files, but when I opened new Outlook, they were already there. They had been stored in the cloud by Microsoft.

    Comcast uses Imap.

I want to import all of my old email from Comcast into new Outlook, but retain my email once I cancel Comcast.

I am told the only way to do this is to store them as Pop3 so that they reside on the local pc not the remote server.

How can I do that. I so want to be done with Comcast.

Hello - I tried the directions above and it is not setting up my comcast.net account. I am still getting a message "The connection to the SMTP server was dropped"
