Using Outlook for iOS in business environments for email and scheduling
Hello Matt,
I'm Ibhadighi and I'd happily help you with your question. In this forum, we are Microsoft consumers just like yourself.
To stop your new iPhone 15 Pro from downloading old emails that you've already deleted, follow these steps:
- Check Outlook on the Web: First, make sure these emails are indeed deleted from your account. Log into your Outlook account via a web browser and check the "Deleted Items" or "Trash" folders. If the emails are still there, permanently delete them from these folders.
- Adjust Email Sync Settings on Your iPhone:
- Go to **Settings** > **Mail**.
- Tap **Accounts** and select your Outlook account.
- Tap **Mail Days to Sync** and choose a more recent timeframe (e.g., the last month). This limits the emails downloaded to your device.
- Remove and Re-add Your Email Account:
- If the above doesn't work, consider removing your Outlook account from your iPhone and then re-adding it.
- Go to **Settings** > **Mail** > **Accounts**. Select your Outlook account, tap **Delete Account**, and confirm.
- After removing it, go back to **Settings** > **Mail** > **Accounts** > **Add Account**, and re-add your Outlook account.
- If your iPhone is set to restore from an iCloud backup, ensure that the backup does not contain the unwanted emails. Sometimes, emails can reappear if they were part of the backup.
These steps should help control the influx of old emails.
I hope this helps.
Best Regards, Ibhadighi
