I NEED A LOG OUT OPTION NOW! This needs to be addressed ASAP.... I am having issues with my outlook email not receiving any emails or being able to send them out even though everything in outlook seems to have sent it and working properly... When I test by sending an email from my GMAIL it appears in Gmail to have sent correctly but i NEVER receive anything on my outlook. It WAS working even though I have numerous complaints on the options and functions.. my last email recieved was 6/5/2024... it is 6/28/24 and i have supposed to have received hundreds of emails which I never received. I am simply trying to sign out and sign back in to hopefully address this issue, and I have already deleted and re-set my outlook multiple times.. (Gmail is HIGHLY superior to Outlook and I'm considering petitioning my company to walk away from outlook completely and moving our whole company to Gmail the service and usability of the "new outlook" is abysmal and totally unacceptable from not only a private/personal perspective, but detrimental to companies and important communication world wide.... It also seems like changing over the new outlook from the old, and the mail app is not being worked on at ALL and the many MANY issues posted, tracked and brought to Microsoft's attention is intentionally never addressed.)

Hello Adriana H Hi, I'm Karl and will be happy to help you today. There is no logoff option in the "new Outlook" which is no different than the Mail app which it will eventually permanently replace. The "new Outlook" is essentially "Outlook on the web" wrapped in an app framework with the added functionality to add external IMAP accounts. Unlike accessing sn Outlook.com account via a browser which only involved the one account, the "new Outlook" can hav up to 10 accounts configured. As for the "File" tab, that only applies to the classic Outlook desktop program (part of Office). There is also no logoff option in Outlook desktop. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask, we're here to help you further if needed.

Beyond the security concerns mentioned by others there are features that rely on you logging off like "empty my deleted folder upon exit". If we never exit the application then how does this feature work and why even ask if you want it on or off.

Still waiting for a real answer as to why this is missing and when it will be resolved.

Why would I want to remove the account? That sounds drastic! I just want to sign out, for heaven's sake!

Log into the web based version and sign out of your account from the right upper corner.
