So basically your answer is that this is a horribly designed mail application and there is no way to actually open the original email and reply to it. Lol thanks.
Trying to reply to original message after forwarding
Hi
I have searched for answers on this but all I come up is responses from 10 years ago.
My problem is, when I get an email, I forward it on to get a decision. Once the decision is made I go back to reply on the original message to the original sender and all I can find is there whole conversation. So looks like I have to send the whole thread back to the original sender.
I have gone into settings and changed to individual messages but no luck. Is there anything else I need to do?

2024-05-08T13:47:06+00:00 The problem is not "how to reply to a forwarded email."
The problem is "how to find the original email once it has been forwarded?"

I have the same issue and dont believe you have addressed the issue of having to send the whole conversation including emails with others to the original sender in reply, instead of just my response.
How to find the original email received so that I can respond to that one message? It seems that I have to forward the whole conversation.
This is different to the previous Outlook.
Many thanks.

If you open the email and then, “Mark as Unread” (chosen from the choices offered from the ellipses at the top of the email). When you open it again, you will (should) have the ability to reply to the original email.
I hope that helps. It worked for me.
