Notifications when an event is added to a shared calendar??

Hey everyone

I subscribe to a shared calendar of a family member. Is there a way for me to be notified (by email I guess) whenever a new event is added to the calendar?

To clarify: I’ve gone into Settings - Calendar - Shared Calendars.

It says “You can receive email notifications when someone creates or updates an event on a shared calendar. Calendars that aren't shared and calendars where you only have permission to see whether the owner is free or busy aren't listed below.”

But the shared calendar isn’t listed below. But it also isn’t one where I can only see free or busy, I can see full details. So why isn’t that calendar listed there??

I really need to be notified when a new event is added, and ideally when an event is changed as well.

Gahhh! I thought it’d be a simple concept but can’t seem to find an answer.

Thanks

Megan

    Yep, done that. No change.

I'm finding it super frustrating that Outlook isn't giving me the option to get notifications for this one shared calendar!

Hmmm I've discovered another issue, that may possibly be linked.

Up in the top right corner where my initials are, and I click on it to see my account and profile links, I've noticed that it has an address of "outlook_******@outlook.com" rather than my name etc.

So I click on "My Microsoft Account"
and it loads the login page and says "That Microsoft account doesn't exist. Enter a different account or get a new one."

So I click on my actual email address that's saved there, and it still loads the same profile again. (Note: My email address is a gmail one, but I've never had an issue with the MS account using it in many years)

    hmmm... what now?!

It's an outlook.com calendar, correct? Delete the calendar from Outlook and Have the person re-share it with you.

No, it isn't on that page.

I received an email to accept the share.

Hi, I'm Diane and I'm happy to help you today.

The shared calendar is not listed on this page? https://outlook.live.com/mail/0/options/calendar/SharedCalendars https://learn-attachment.microsoft.com/api/attachments/82ac192c-9ff4-4468-9e1f-da70983879b7?platform=QnA

Did you receive an email to accept the share or was it shared using an ics file?

Let me know how it goes, I'm here to help you further if needed.
