Microsoft Outlook Mac app keeps crashing every time I reopen it. Message says: "There was a problem with Microsoft Outlook and we apologize for the inconvenience”. I have tried checking for updates, uninstalling and reinstalling the entire Microsoft 365 suite, and updating my mac software, and still get the same error message. I have seen similar posts in the support forum, but their solutions also didn't work. The other apps (word, ppt, excel) all work fine, it's only Outlook. Current Mac version is Sonoma 14.4.1. How are we supposed to do this when Outlook crashes 2 seconds after it opens? This appears to be a common and known bug. Look at the number of posts stating the same thing, yet no one seems to want to say it's a problem and each person offers different ways to fix it that don't resolve the issue.

Have you tried deleting the application’s cache?

Cache files are designed to speed up the app and can sometimes become corrupted, leading toperformance issues in Mac.

1. With Outlook open and focused, click the Tools button in the Menu Bar.
2. From the drop-down menu, highlight and select Accounts…
3. In the pane on the left, click to highlight your primary Outlook account.
4. At the bottom of the pane, click the three horizontal dots button.
5. From the drop-down menu, highlight and select Reset Account. Clear the cache in the new Outlook for Mac - Microsoft Support

Lastly, you can rebuild the Office database by using the Microsoft Database Utility. If Office apps detects a problem with the database, it automatically runs the Database Utility. Rebuild the Office database - Microsoft Support
