    Hi Hans,

Thank you for reaching out to this forum. I'm Utkarsh and as a fellow Microsoft user, I'm here and ready to help you today.

I am a user like you, this is a user forum and not Microsoft directly.

May I know what version of Outlook you have? What version of Outlook do I have? -

Experiencing frequent logouts in Outlook can be frustrating. Here are several troubleshooting steps you can take to resolve this issue:

    1. First, please make sure that you have the latest version of New Outlook installed. You can check for updates by clicking on the gear icon in the top right corner of the app and selecting "View all Outlook settings" > "General" > "Privacy and data" > "Update options".
    2. If you already have the latest version, please create a new Outlook profile; close Outlook; launch Outlook again; select the newly created profile; add the problematic email accounts there; and check if you get the same issue? Please follow our guide below to do this.

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/create-an-outlook-profile-f544c1ba-3352-4b3b-be0b-8d42a540459d

    1. Uncheck "Always prompt for logon credential". In Outlook, go to File > Account Settings > Account Settings, select the Exchange account and click "Change" button. Click "More Settings", in "Security tab", uncheck "Always prompt for logon credentials".
    2. Remove stored credentials in Credential Manager. Open the Control Panel, click Credential Manager, find the credential sets that Outlook in the name, expand the set and click on "Remove from Vault".
    3. if above not work try: If the Outlook app is open on your computer, you need to close it before you can delete the cache. Save any work you may be doing in it and quit the app.

Press the Windows + R keys at the same time to open the Run box. Type the following path into the box and press Enter. %localappdata%\Microsoft\Outlook

It’ll open a folder containing your Outlook profile and cache files. You want to find the folder that says RoamCache and double-click on it to open it.

All the files that you currently see on your screen are the Outlook cache files. To get rid of these files, select them all by pressing Ctrl + A on your keyboard, right-click on any one file, and select the Delete option.

You may want to clear your Recycle Bin to ensure the files are gone for good.

    I am NOT a Microsoft Agent/Employee.

I hope this is helpful! Best Regards, Utkarsh

I went straight to this step and it appears to have stopped the logging out issue for me with New Outlook and my .msn account:

    1. if above not work try: If the Outlook app is open on your computer, you need to close it before you can delete the cache. Save any work you may be doing in it and quit the app. Press the Windows + R keys at the same time to open the Run box. Thank you for response.

indeed, restarting your PC can indeed solve many common issues. When your computer restarts, it clears out temporary files and resets various system processes, which can help resolve minor glitches or software conflicts.
