So when trying to set up an IMAP account in the new Outlook, it 'guesses' the wrong SMTP settings. I tried to go into Settings > Accounts > then click 'Manage' on the related account but there's no options to edit the settings. Is the a different place I can make these these changes?

You´ve gotta be kidding me... you are actually telling us that Outlook has, after 20 years of development, LOST THE ABILITY TO FRIGGIN EDIT THE TWO MOST IMPORTANT CONFIGURATION SETTINGS?!?!?! Really?! Why ?????

Come on folks - tell me you´re not being serious. You pretty much force us to use this new stuff - btw, what was wrong with the old one? I liked it actually, and for me personally, the new stuff isn´t any better, just different...

This is complete BS. I cannot "send" or "reply" or "forward" any messages in the new Oulook because the SMTP configuration is incorrect and there's no facility to edit it.

    Dear Daleos,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community.

I understand your concern and you are absolutely right, in the classic outlook you have an option to edit your SMTP account settings. However, in the new outlook this feature is not yet available but please note it is under active development by the team as requested by many users. You can refer to new Outlook for Windows (microsoft.com). As a workaround you may try to remove the account and re-add with the correct configuration for now.

Therefore, since Microsoft is constantly working on improving their products and adding new features. I suggest keeping an eye on the Microsoft Outlook blog Things to look forward to in the new Outlook for Windows - Microsoft Community Hub or the Microsoft 365 Roadmap | Microsoft 365 for any updates on this feature. In the meantime, I do apologize for the inconvenience this may cause. If you heavily rely on this feature, you may consider toggling out of the new Outlook for Windows preview for now. I will also update here once I get additional information and the specific timeline for the feature will be started tolling out to all users. Appreciate your patience and understanding.

Thank you for your precious time. Have a good day!

    Sincerely,

    Libeamlak | Microsoft Community Moderator

Way to share a post that's 2 years old! Things have changed since then, so perhaps as a community moderator it would be prudent to reference updated information.
