Based on your description, I know the scenario you met. For this, to add a new contact to a shared contact list and then add them to a contact group within the contact list, please follow these steps:
- Open Outlook and go to the Contacts folder where the shared contact list is located.
- Click on the "New Contact" button in the ribbon at the top of the screen.
- Enter the contact's information in the fields provided.
- Click on the "Save & Close" button to save the new contact.
- To add the new contact to a contact group within the shared contact list, right-click on the contact group and select "Add Members" from the drop-down menu.
- In the "Add Members" window, select "From Outlook Contacts" and then select the new contact you just added.
- Click on the "Members" button to add the contact to the contact group.
- Click on the "OK" button to save the changes.
The new contact should now be added to the shared contact list and the contact group within it.
